I have served as a benefit auctioneer and have raised millions of dollars (through the generosity of others) for non-profit organizations throughout the Washington, DC area. In this picture, I was at the Key School, a DC public school. I have raised money through live auctions and paddle raises for a variety of organizations including schools, scholarship funds, after school programs, research hospitals, international relief organizations, second chance housing organizations, and local foundations. Karen is an amazing benefit auctioneer. She has worked her magic at our annual auction for the past four years. Each year she brings her energy, humor and passion to our school and moves the community to give from their hearts to enhance the programs that our school is able to offer the students. We are always amazed that she continues to break our school records, year after year to encourage parents to bid in the live auction and give in the paddle raise. She is easy to work with and always brings a warm presence to the interaction with parent volunteers. I don't know what we would do without her since everyone looks forward to the event and considers the auction the highlight of the evening.
